@kartersmommyy, if u plan to go back to wk there then yes bc most places only give 6weeks and the law is 12weeks I know it's hard but I would try to wk as much as u can now. Or I would plan to not work after. With me I acted as if I would return but never planned to. My son was due sept 2 and aug 31 was my last day I was also on my feet but would get to rest as well. I had my son sept 7 and by oct 1 my boss was calling that's when I told him I wouldn't return. We have kept in touch and I could always go back but never will bc my hubby likes me home and I can't miss any time with my little boy

@txyogagirl, i really don’t wanna go back lbs but i’m prob gonna have to so my manager told me that he would take me out of the system so i could take as much time off as i wanted & when i wanted to come back he would put me back in. a few other girls at my job did that.. one girl took off 5 whole months & came back lol i’m just so tired of working the crazy shifts & 10 or 11 hours on my feet straight is absolutely killing me. i’m either gonna have to slow down or take off completely for a while. if i slow down i might be able to last a little while longer there lol

@kartersmommyy, but if he takes u out of the system how will u get paid for maternity leave? But omg your boss sounds awesome to allow someone so much time off. Just do what u think is best it will all work out

But to answer your question for paid maternity leave 30 weeks is to early, even if your boss is awesome.

If you can hold out another month you could take paid maternity leave at 34-35 weeks.

Or talk to your boss and let him know what's going on.

@mommabear538, my job doesn’t offer us a paid maternity leave, i work at a denny’s in southern illinois lol it sucks & i wanna leave as soon as possible tbh

@kartersmommyy, o okay I'm sorry that sucks my husband even got a leave that's nuts how can they get away with that. In Texas it's the law. Where do u live?

@txyogagirl, i live in illinois. i think it’s only bc it’s a minimum wage job. minimum wage jobs don’t usually give paid leave here, idk where it is other places tho lol it would be sweet if they did
