I think they say after 1 years old. But i could be wrong. My oldest had a blanket by 10 months. He knew how to uncover his face and he slept in my room so i checked on him often
My baby has been sleeping with me with a blanket on the bottom half of her body and sleeping on top of a blanket since 1 week old. My doc said its fine as long as she can't get the blanket over her head and the bottom one is flat so it can't move around.

I’ve read once they are able to pull a blanket away from their own face they can sleep with one.
