Moms,
Today's #mombassadorchat is with @believeinbuddha on crafting!!
Here's her bio:
Hi there! I'm the Buddhist Mama. I am 27 years old and from central California. I have four children; Ava, Ella, Zeus, and Harley Quinn. I am no stranger to struggle and have seen my share of ups and downs in life. No matter what the universe throws at me I like to stay positive and take everything as a lesson to be learned and wisdom to be gained. I like to focus on what truly matters in life, like the small stuff; feeling a sense of accomplishment and pride. One way I help to build these feelings up in myself is by crafting. Pinterest is my life! I get so much joy every day from just being inspired and I try to spread that joy in every way that I can. I love my ability to utilize this community of you wonderful moms. Mom Life is an incredible blessing for me which I am so thankful for. We are all here to support one another and share our stories, strength, and hope. I look forward to getting to know everyone and helping this app grow!
Tips I have for crafting:
1. Use what you already have. Look around your house; you can craft with anything from old curtains to clothes, broken jewelry or scrap wood. Go outside! You can use rocks, cardboard, and recyclables for various projects as well.
2. Find ideas on Pinterest. I get all of my ideas from here!
3. Check out budget stores. Dollar tree, 99 cent store, Dollar General and thrift shops are always rotating their inventory to bring in new products. You will be surprised what you can find!
4. Invest in a glue gun. A good glue gun will run you about $7.50 and a large pack of glue sticks is $10 for 100 sticks. This will come in handy, trust me. It expands your ability to craft! A large pack of sticks lasts me months so its perfect for moms on a budget.
5. Coupon. If you go to the craft stores make sure you bring all the coupons you can find. The store sites usually have a few posted and if you sign up for their email news letter they send you extra ones too. You can use all the coupons you find because at most craft stores there's no limit. But always check your local Wal-Mart first! I have found that paint and felt for example is less than half the price there.

@tristan-makes-5 @sawyersmom @jmw24815 @wafflez @smilingwithmyawesome4kids @courtneyraelochamy Thank you all for joining me for my first Mombassador chat! I had so much fun teaching and learning with you today. I hope you had fun too and I look forward to next time. 💚💙💛
@smilingwithmyawesome4kids have you tried koolaid play doh. The making process is fun an playing with it after is even more an it smells amazing. I also did cool whip paint just take a drop of food coloring to the tub an mix an its edible an fluffy
@smilingwithmyawesome4kids my favorite project by far is www.thekindnessrocksproject.com
I have received so much joy from seeing children and even adults who find my rocks and say that it made their day better. It makes me tear up just writing about it. I know the importance of happiness in peoples lives and I love being able to bring more of it into the world.
@jmw24815 finger painting is so fun! You can use tape to write a phrase or your baby's name and let them finger paint over and around the tape. Once the paint dries you remove the tape to reveal the word underneath. Then hang and enjoy 😁
@tristan-makes-5 that's awesome I should look into local craft shows. They have one coming up in November its a holiday boutique. There will be vendors and stuff I should ask them how to become a vendor and how much it costs
@believeinbuddha the craft show were goung to do is at my daughters school and it cost $25 for a table. I will be ok if we just make enough to cover the cost of the table.
@tristan-makes-5 same here. The more I craft the more I realize "hey I'm good at this!" I noticed the same trend with Wal-Mart and joanns. Ill buy paint at joanns that costs 2.50 a bottle but at Wal-Mart they're .50 each! Hobby lobby has better deals than joanns most of the time too. Not only that but they carry higher quality products I've noticed. Joanns is good for beginners but hobby lobby is where I've moved to since becoming more familiar with materials and new projects.
@believeinbuddha i always go to the dollar store first because there were some things i was looking for and i found them there then went next door to hobby lobby and for the same thing they wanted 4.99 for it and the dollar store had a slightly smaller bag for 1.00
@believeinbuddha I'm willing to pay a little bit more just to avoid ever going to Walmart haha. I won't be caught dead in there unless I absolutely have no choice.
@lovelily isn't it nice how they let you use all the coupons you can find? I always take advantage of the 60% off coupons they release every week. I've found that several things I went there for they have at Wal-Mart for cheaper like felt squares and acrylic paint tho!
@sawyersmom that sounds so fun! I have a few ideas for canvas painting on my new blog post if you'd like to check that out! 💚

Joann' s is my favorite craft store. Especially when you use their app for coupons. I can get a lot of things for very little money using the coupons and military discount. That's where I get all my painting supplies.
