I do not think it's mean to let my babies cry for 5-10 minutes if I'm watching them from my baby monitor. My mom thinks I'm so damn mean for not going and holding my kids if they just cry alittle bit.

I never ran to my DD the second she cried and held her. Sometimes she would wake up fuss for 1-2 minutes then fall back asleep. I always gave it a few before going to her. I knew her cries so I kinda already knew what she wanted before going to her.

@mommiesaremagical14, same with my daughter. She would do the same, fuss for a few and then go back to sleep.

@mommiesaremagical14 @kdstiltz yeah I give them a couple minutes before I go get them. I know what cries are them just wanting to be held and when they need something.

@kdstiltz @twinmomma2b I think it's important to let them sooth themselves when you know that all they want is to be held but should be sleeping. If my mom got on my case about it I'd flat out tell her "MY kid is fine I know what to do. I love you but you did your job now it's my turn. Please don't tell me what to do with MY kid."

@mommiesaremagical14 I have told her. She went and told my sister that I let her cry until she couldn't breathe which isn't true at all.
