I dress my girly in either girly or neutral clothes just because that's what I have! I personally would dress her in boys stuff too but with a cute bow or something. I've been asked several times when she's dressed in neutral if she's a boy or girl and I don't mind being asked cause I think it is hard to tell with babies! I do call her 'baby girl' and 'princess' and all that because she is a girl and if and when she expresses otherwise then I'll change how I treat her I guess? I think it's quite interesting all the different opinions on it though xx

I don't mind dressing children in whatever colours but I feel raising a child without a gender is just a step too far. If they grow up feeling different to what they are then that's fine. Cross that bridge when you get to it. But there are males and females. Raising them not knowing one or the other I think is irresponsible and confusing.

I think what the parents were saying is that when it comes to like gender roles and stereotypes so the girl wearing pink the boy blue and boys playing with cars and girls with dolls they wanted to move away from that and let them choose whichever they want which I think is a good point. I guess if your daughter wants a doll then fine I don't know anyone who would force that on their child but it is an interesting debate thank you ladies x

Well on that front then I'm easy going. Morgan has a doll and pushchair. He pointed out a my little pony bath toy he said he wanted and I won't hesitate to buy it for Christmas if he wanted it. He is your typical boy in the sense he's naturally leant towards cars, trains, all the stereotypical boy toys. I choose his clothes but he's picked out the odd top because it's got a dinosaur or batman on it. I'm not going to go out my way to only dress him in neutral colours though. He's a boy and there's nothing wrong in boy or girls clothes. Think we are over analyse & worry too much about children's feelings when they really don't care! Lol

@sara-lou86 I agree. I think as parents we worry and then this whole what's politically correct stuff makes us question ourselves when it the child is quite happy and doesn't seem bothered then I guess we shouldn't be either

There's a mother who won the right to not have her child's gender on their birth certificate. I think that is taking it too far. Some people think it shouldn't matter if we're male or female. I think it does. Women's bodies have certain functions and so do males. Take away their gender, how do you teach these things? Just makes it all more confusing and I think more damaging. Yes there are people born who feel they are different to their birth gender. But that number compared to the millions born is a silly reason to push for genderless birth certificates. Another debate maybe 😂

@sara-lou86 yeah no that's going too far. Your sex defines you. You are either a male or female. There isn't both unless, I don't know that exists lol but it's one or the other. If later on down the line the child for whatever reason doesn't want to be what society associates with female and male then fine but as a baby how does giving your baby a sex hurt the baby :s definitely might have to have another post on a few days about this one lol
