Those of you who have been induced, would you mind sharing your stories?

i hate being induce im so sad i have to be induce tuesday because it a long process

@morgan_dremom, why do you hate it mama? Also what form of inducement are they using on you?

I was induced. They put an IV in you for labor in general, in case you need fluids or whatever else. I also had a foley catheter which was used to open my cervix and given pitocin. After that, it was a waiting game. As long as you don't have an epidural, you're free to move about. So, I just ate popsicles and watched videos on my phone. Then went to sleep and slept on and off until I was 8 cm. I got up to pee and when I was walking back from the bathroom, my water broke. From there, I dilated the rest of the way.

@breloya , how long were you in labor? Also how dialated were you when you got induced?

I wasn't dilated at all, nor was my cervix thinned. And ny daughter also wasn't engaged in my pelvis at all. So, she was still all the way up in my ribs. I was overdue though and ended up with a late onset of preeclampsia, so I needed to be induced at that point. From the time they started pitocin, it took me about 12 hours to go from 0 cm to fully dilated and to pushing. But it was a really laid back labor. I would've been happy if I could have real food though. 😅

I was induced with my son right at 37 weeks. I was leaking antibiotic fluid but no contractions so doc told me to go to L&D. I was 2-3cm dilated & they started me on pitocin around 1pm. By 6-7pm I had only dilated to 4cm with moderate contractions so they increased my pitocin levels & he was born a little after 11pm. The contractions were really intense the last few hours but I didn't get an epidural.

@_sheriee no problem at all hun & no I didn't. I did tear with my daughter though & I went into labor with her naturally. They stitched me up shortly after I delivered the placenta & compared to labor that's nothing lol just some stinging when they injected me down there with the lidocine then I was numb so didn't feel a thing while they stitched me.

I was induced at 37 weeks 3 days due to preeclampsia and they started the induction at 4pm and I had him the next day at 3pm

@mamax3bear18 , completely forgot about lidocaine. Really hoping to do this without epidural.

I was induced because I went past my due date. I went in on Monday afternoon where they gave me Cervidil to help me dilate since I hadn’t at that point. That was in for 12hrs until 5:30am on Tuesday. I was checked again still not dilated so I was allowed to eat and then at 12:00pm I was given cytotec( I think that’s how it’s spelled) and after 4 hrs with that still wasn’t dilated. I got another break and then at 7:00 pm was given another Cervidil and at 7:00am Wednesday I was only 1cm. They started pitocin and I dilated to 2cm and my water broke but after a couple hours there were no changes so they did a Foley catheter and that got me to 4cm. I finally got my epidural at that point and slept for the rest of the night. By 4:00am Thursday I was 9cm and at 4:30am I made it to 10cm and started pushing and my son was born at 5:09am on Thursday with only one tear.

It definitely was a long process but completely worth it for my little man ofc! 😌
