Has anybody had a child/baby with croup?

Yes... I gave him him a nebulizer treatment everyday and kept the cool mist vaporizer around him.

@elenalee do you have to go to the doctors to get a nebulizer? Does a fan help?

@jasminemcmahon30, yes you have to go to the dr for the nebulizer and the meds that go in it. We always have it on hand though bc my husband has asthma.

@elenalee oh, okay. Do I have to bring my child in if i think it's croup?

I would. I know it can get bad sometimes and land kids in the hospital.

I thought my baby had whooping cough so I had to take him to the hospital because it was over the weekend and they said bronchitis just guessing.... Gave him a week on a steroid and didn't go away so I took him to our family doctor and he said croup... If it's croup they can't do anything for you they just said Tylenol or if it's really cold take them outside to breath in really cold air or run the shower hot and close the door with steam. and my baby was a month or a little older. But you need to go to the doctor and figure out what it is because it could be something bad. They might prescribe you nebulizer stuff but don't give your baby it unless he's tried it before or they prescribe it because he might have a reaction to it.
