Alright mommas I need help. My bp has been high from time to time throughout this pregnancy but for the past week I’ve been swollen all day and all night regardless of what I do and now my bp spikes and then plummets back down. This happens all within a matter of 15-20 minutes. I feel foolish for constantly going back in due to how quickly it changes. My doctor doesn’t seem to think it’s preeclampsia due to there being no protein in my urine. (There’s been protein and leukocytes found much earlier but I was told it was a uti and now it’s clear). Any advice or anyone ever deal with this sort of thing? I’m tired of feeling crazy. I’m also 38w4d

I've actually had the same with swelling and bp but my doctor has ruled out preeclampsia with bloodwork. She came to the conclusion it's just a normal side effect of pregnancy and not much can be done. She told me to just watch our for symptoms of preeclampsia just in case though. So basically spots in vision, leg pain and feeling faint.

I don't think you should feel crazy at all. I was actually induced at 39 weeks due to high BP with my first baby and will be induced with this one at 39 weeks as well again because of high bp. They wouldn't induce me before then because of course to a certain extent the longer baby is in the safer. I would call the DR on call or your delivering hospital and let them know how you're feeling because pre eclampsia can come at any time for any reason.
