Today is the day I'm going to try rice cereal with my little man. Does anyone have any suggestions? The Dr said it does not replace his bottle, so I was wondering how others give it to their baby. Do you give some cereal in the bowl before, during, or after the feeding? He normally has 6ozs of formula at feedings. Should I give him 4 oz and then some of the watered down cereal?

Wait about 30-45 minutes after his bottle to give him any food, that way he doesn't get over stuffed. Also like stated above, don't be surprised if he doesn't eat much. Food before 1 is just for fun, it's more about the introduction. We did baby led weaning and started at 6 months, my son honestly never ate much of anything till about 8 or 9 months and is just now eating what i would consider meals at 11 months, follow your babies cues and try not to make him eat if he doesn't need it.
