Anyone else suddenly have people making comments about what they are eating? I working in a place that the guy to girl ratio is about 12 to 1. I'm fine with being surrounded by guys, it doesn't bug me one bit. So one day someone brought in a little bit of chocolate and put it in the community candy jar that sits 6 inches from my desk that I almost never sit at. Now one lady (she has the biggest heart and is strange but everything she says and does is out of the kindness of her heart) seen me give into a piece of chocolate, and says "just remember that it is harder to get it off later. I know it is an easy excuse that you are eating for two but still." Then about 20 minutes later on break, one of the guys offered me one of his wife's amazing cookies as I'm having a few cheetos. So I have a cookie and cheetos and another guy comes up and says in a joking manner, "now cheetos isn't something a pregnant lady should be eating, now go get a double cheeseburger. I want to see you put on a lot of weight so your husband (who also works there but wasn't sitting there at that moment) won't recognize you." All joking and in a manner that I knew he didn't mean anything bad by it and that I can eat what I wanted. Then yesterday, someone brought breakfast pizza and I had a slice on break (everyone takes all the breaks at the same time, there is a bell and everything) and the convo turned to my weight again. And my own husband said that if I wasn't pregnant then I would be getting fat. I'll be 15 weeks tomorrow and have only gained 4 pounds from my prepregnant weight and I think a whole pound went to my boobs. Oh and the lady who made the comment about what I'm eating was the same lady who rolled her eyes when I passed down a donut because I couldn't eat it and had to explain that I would barf and not from not eating unhealthy things.

I know how you feel. But don't think of it as a weight thing. Its just something weird that people do when you're pregnant. They want to fatten you up for a turkey on thanksgiving or some shit. Everyone always told me I need to eat more I need to gain more because I only gained 6lbs and it made me feel self conscious the whole time I have issues with my weight and have struggled with eating disorders so I'm very sensitive about my weight and people were constantly bringing it up. They would tease me about my cravings and say how do you not gain weight its not like you don't eat! And I would hate it. But I had to brush it off. You look amazing so don't let them get you down.

@believeinbuddha, it is frustrating because I've always had a good appetite and now I can barely eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in one sitting so I'm eating throughput the day. So everyone sees me eating and I go home for lunch so I'm sure they think I'm pigging out at home. So I have the one lady who is commenting on what I'm eating and then guys handing me food and saying I should have fattier foods. It is so frustrating

@emilyinsd yeah ignore them. Its none of their business anyways. Someone is always going to have an opinion about something. They don't always have to matter tho 😜

@believeinbuddha, I know I should but I guess my emotions are getting the better of me

@emilyinsd that's normal! I was so emotional about everything when I was pregnant. 😂 hang in there

@ecahanes, the lady is a really nice lady and is friends with everyone at work. If I were to make her mad at me, I might as well quit because everyone has her back and for good reason. The guys are great but joking sometimes go too far but are still great. I'm almost certain that I'm the first pregnant lady to work there in over 10 years and everyone just doesn't know how to handle it and then I get myself worked up
