Anyone whose had a c section want to share their experience?.. My doctors thinking I'm going to need…

I had an emergency c-section after hours of labor. I hated getting the epidural, but made it through that. It was so weird and not fun, I shook so hard I didn't want to risk holding my son right away, and I needed fancy anxiety meds afterwards. But the doctors and nurses were wonderful, I didn't feel any pain during and only a bit when they were stitching me up, my son came out perfect, and recovery wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. My scar is barely visible, but that area is still a tad tender if pushed/moved the wrong way.

Oh. My mom had a c-section with me and was knocked out for it. My dad can't tell me about it because I'm pretty sure he blocked it out.

@nomli thank you.. That helps a lot and I can imagine being shaken up I was just worried yoi would be able to feel them making the incision.

You're welcome. It's scary, but I didn't feel that at all. The anesthesiologist asked if I could feel anything, and I said that I wasn't sure if it was numb yet. He then said "Well, they just cut you open and you didn't feel that at all, did you?" and I hadn't felt a thing. At most I felt a bit of pressure during the while thing.

I had an emergency csection at 34 weeks after being induced due to high blood pressure and preeclampsia causing my kidney enzymes to rise more than normal and my son's heartbeat to decrease. I was on bed rest while on magneisum with a catheter in. The doctors came in to tell me they had to get me to the operating room right that moment cause my son's heartbeat dropped. It was scary I cried all the way to the operating room and on the operating bed. I didn't know what to expect and thought me and my son would die but I got through it and had a beautiful babyboy. They numbed me really well. All I felt at the time was all the tugging and pressure from trying to get him out. They stitched me up and gave me morphine. I used it the first day as much as needed. It was hard to stand straight up and sleep at night. Or even peeing hurt, it felt like all my muscles was being squeezed. It hurt when I'd cough or swallow food. But that also went away after a day. I was off meds completely the 2nd day. I didn't want to be addicted to pain killers. I was up walking the halls to the nicu the next day to help with my soreness. Was released from the hospital on day 9. (They kept me for my high blood pressure smh) I was sore maybe the first week but it all went away. My csection scar has healed up nice.
