When is it acceptable to ask for a induction date? Our due date is march 20th. We went two and a half weeks over with our daughter (and that was a very scary near death birth) so In light of not doing that again , is like to be safe than sorry and or miserable .

They will only do it for medical reasons and its usually between 37 and 39 weeks that they will induce.

Once your 37 weeks you can ask your doctor but some doctor don't induce into 41 weeks

I had to wait until 39 weeks to be induced medically. Because where I live, it’s illegal to do it any earlier.

My dr was willing to induce me at 39 but because of medical reasons I got induced at 37 with my first and 36 with my second

My doctor said if I want to, we can talk about it on my due date, but not any sooner. But I also think she thinks I won't make it to my due date
