My Grandmother in law is pretty much forcing me to go to child birthing and parenting and breastfeeding classes... is all that really necessary?
I go to them once a week it's every Monday threw October..there free and they give prizes every week for the baby and it's free so why not.. Learning some new stuff but most I already know lmao. My WIC place throws them and bring food for us and such it's something to do also so🤷🏽
@breshields4, I can't stress enough how right your grandmother is. U can never be to prepared. Don't you want to know standard procedure depending on where your birthing some places have some pretty dumb and strict rules and u wanna be able to know what to and not to consent to.
Honestly, I thought they were unnecessary. So I never went. I wanted to but I ended up just reading articles about it and figured good enough lol
My hospital it "requesting" I go before I can "tour" the hospital. Just want to have some control I guess.
If she is paying for them more power to ya, YouTube is ok, but you don't get the interaction with the instructor. I wish I had gone with my first, I had a HARD time breastfeeding and my body quit producing after 3 months.
I also only had my mom and my husband in the delivery room, I had a hard delivery with a 10 lb. baby. My mom spent most of the time trying to calm my husband down because I was in so much pain. My daughter got stuck, they had to use the suction thing on her, along with cutting me and I still tore. I labored at home for 24 hours and then another at the hospital for another 17 hours. I was definitely not prepared for the last 17 hours.
Classes are there to help prepare you, I wish more moms would take them and use this vital info. I really think it would have helped me a LOT!
I feel as if it’s your first child they could be beneficial and really interesting, I went to child birth and parenting class but not breastfeeding yet. But it’s always your choice you shouldn’t have to be forced
Being a mother does not come with a manual, do what makes you comftable, and you can never be to educated on something so important :)
