Not usually, they have to check with the surgeons and the available times to have it done in the OR....I was supposed to have a c section but my water broke beforehand....they said either Aug 10 or 11 and I wanted Aug 10....then they said it had to be the 11 because all the OR rooms were booked on the 10th.
@lovelily ok cause my Dr said it will be around 39 weeks and I hit 39 weeks on a Friday and he said they don't do elective csection's on weekends (fri-sun) so that literally leaves 4 days jan 29th to Feb 1st that's why I asked
Yeah, most likely they will make you wait to 39 weeks 3 days in that case and do it on that Monday. I know they won't do it earlier than 39 weeks, too risky. I went into labor at 38 weeks 6 days -- one day shy of 39 weeks and I had to deliver naturally in that case.
I was adamant that I did not want to deliver naturally because she was expected to be 10 pounds due to Gestational Diabetes. And I did not want to have her on Aug 9 because that was the anniversary of a bad car wreck that put me in the hospital for 3 weeks. But that's when she wanted to come out anyway. Water broke and she was born at 11:58 pm Aug 9 (just 2 more minutes UGH!) oh and she was 9lbs even. I tore so bad. 😑
@lovelily omg..... you are one brave and strong woman!! No way I could do it! My Dr says he doesn't think my body will progress with this one either. My twin sister really wants to be here to see her niece when she's born and see her nephew since she hasn't seen him since he was 6 months old (he's almost 2) so I'm hoping to make it to 39 weeks so she can be here
