Any ladies not have a period for a very long time bc pregnancy and breastfeeding then get pregnant?…

They normally goes by your last mensural period but since it's been months since you had one they only way to tell would be by blood test or an ultrasound @txyogagirl

@twins1987, it's been 2 years since I had a period and yea that's what they said but what I mean is how do they tell by my blood test what do they look for

@twins1987, o okay I was just curious they said after my blood work comes back they will schedule an ultrasound soon or later depending on how far I am. Baby number one was nothing like this bc I was regular

- They check for HCG levels in your blood.. it’s a hormone you release during pregnancy .. and yeah; I haven’t had a period in over a year.

I just don't get my period, so for both pregnancies they have run hcg levels to determine when they should run an early aging ultrasound. Once levels are high enough, they know that you should be far enough to see baby and heartbeat. Since I never get my period, I would use Ovulation test daily so we always knew what due date was going to be, which was nice because both times the aging ultrasound due date was within one day of the Ovulation due date, meaning it's very accurate! My 5th turned 1 July 31st.. I’m a Nursing on demand Mama, so got AF in July, skipped Aug. skipped Sept.. Doc took HCG on Sept 29th it came back 122,607 so he thinks round 7wks. Dating u/s on Oct 6th showed 10wks edd 4th of May and HCG 133,269. So HCG will show if your far enough to get FHR on U/S but don’t rely on it solely as How many weeks you are. This is My 6th and Dating u/s has always been more accurate than HCG Levels alone cause they vary greatly! :) hope that helps! Also definitely have them schedule your u/s. 💕

Thank u all so much @beccaaalynnn11, @mct, @magickalparents, I knew about the hcg level but I didn't know it could increase or decrease enough to give u a estimated due date but I guess what ur saying is if it's high enough they will do an ultrasound if not they will wait. With my first I went in and only did urine test and they told me I wasn't pregnant I was home sad throwing up 2 weeks later I did a cheap dollar test and it was positive went back and baby was 10 weeks already had a little head and some body didn't look like a bean heart was strong it was pretty amazing but crazy that just several weeks before my dr told me I wasn't pregnant. lol I have no clue how far I could be but think I'm got preg end of July or first of aug but who knows

- A blood test is more accurate, I always refused urine tests. I knew before they’d show up anyways .. but yes, HCG levels are different depending on where you’re at .. You shouldn’t have any quantitive HCG in your blood if you aren’t pregnant. There are a couple of reasons you would, cancer, a loss, or a pituitary gland issue.. so yes. You’ll know for sure this week. And then they’ll do a dating ultrasound to give you a more specific date of conception .. my baby boy, is massive, he’s been two weeks ahead since the beginning, and just last week they told me he’s now measuring at 23 weeks, which literally isn’t possible.

@starrbaby, o okay well I recommend waiting to test only bc it's harder on ur emotions to see a negative. I waited till I had a clear sign like throwing up for no reason or sweats and chills not being able to sleep. Better to wait and get a sign then test them waste money and b sad with a bunch of negatives. I'm praying for u best of luck
