Is the thing where "if you're cold, your baby is cold and if you're hot, your baby is hot." a myth…

An elevated body temperature at some point does effect a fetus.

Myth, your baby is cozy and comfortable inside you. If the baby were ever cold or hot your body would use your core temperature for the baby. The body is smart and will always accommodate to the baby's needs

Yes, what @momof42 is true. Heat from radiation, dopplers, and such can definitely affect the baby.

@loveless idk if she talking about if she just got outside or cold.outside would the effect the baby but if your internal.temperature is higher or lower than it should normal be that will affect the baby.

@momof42 @loveless thank you guys cuz I didn't know that about the doppler and stuff but I mean like once the baby is born. Like if you feel cold walking outside should you bundle your baby up even if nobody else thinks it's cold outside?

@alexisjordan.ky newborns can't regulate their own temperature they depend on yours, they copy it the same as breathing- they will mimic your breathing pattern. So until they are able regulate their own temperature yes bundle them. As a baby gets older they'll no longer depend on you to keep a stable temperature and will be their own regulator, so in that case it's up to them, but use your intuition if you feel they need a hat put a hat on them. I cosleep with my daughter, she's almost 2 yearsold, she runs pretty hot where as I'm more cold so I like to sleep with covers on she will however kick them off, some nights it's too cold and I will dress her warm since she'll refuse covers, most nights she sleeps topless.
