So I decided to give hubby some "special time" with out sex. He suggested we try using condoms but my six wks isn't up yet is it safe to have sex with protection with 2 more weeks left? Do I have to get the ok from GYN first? He is excited that I took the initiative first. The reason I not trying to rich him bc I don't want to get pregnant anyone.

I had sex at 4 weeks pp, but you should wait until the full 6 weeks since you’re at a higher risk of infection and your uterus is still open.

I wouldn't do anything without permission. I was cleared at 3/4 weeks but I had a c-section and healed really well. It's more so that things heal properly with less chance of infection. Plus you usually are really fertile right after having a baby, so when you use decide, use protection.

If you are breastfeeding its is a natural birth control. Like 95%.

@lana30319, not true. That's actually the first thing my OBGYN told me is an old wives tale. I would wait. 2 weeks will fly by!

@dbarton041 parenting class I learned that. I only said 95%. Also I understand we are all different. It really worked for me. Except when you go crazy sexually!

@lana30319, ah interesting! I got an email from parenting.com that went into the science about it. I had no idea but then I went to the obgyn and she said not true!
