What are the negative?

@amelia.22 latching issues, cracked, dry, sore nipples, leaking, engorgement, clogged ducts.....

@mommiesaremagical14, yesss thank you !

It will pass though. I used lansolin nipple cream after every feeding which really helped with the cracking and the soreness. I had a really hard time with him wanting to latch so I read a lot of tips online about positioning which helped that. Thought to be honest the leaking never went away at 6 months still. But breastfeeding my son is some of the best bonding moments we have together.

@scx327 I wasn't fortunate enough to be able to breastfeed. Although I didn't give up for the first 4 months. I tried and tried. I went through the sore, cracked, bleeding nipples and leaking. I didn't produce enough milk. But I was exhausted trying. I'd latch my DD then finish with formula 30 minutes later go pump for an hour, an hour later try to latch and feed then finish with formula then pump again and again. That went on for 4 months I was exhausted, sore and felt horrible. I felt like all I did was latch, feed pump, latch, feed, pump day and night.

@cortneejordan6, @mommiesaremagical14, oh trust me, right now I wish my biggest problem was her not being able to latch properly. I don't mind the leaking and I love breastfeeding her and how she looks at me when she eats lol. I have mastitis/breast abscess and I'm currently in the hospital awaiting surgery in the morning. This isn't something I want to go through again because it's painful, and as much as I loved our special bonding experience, I can still bond feeding her with a bottle.

@scx327 I understand, and you're right you can still have that bonding through bottle feeding. I was upset for a very long time that I couldn't breastfeed but eventually I realized and was able to accept the fact that I couldn't but I still got to hold her and look at her and her look at me. She still got everything she needed and that was good enough for me.

@scx327 I hope all goes well with your surgery. I'll be thinking of you!!! 😃

@mommiesaremagical14, thank you! I was in the hospital for 2 days >_< it was such a drag to be honest. Thankfully, I didn't need surgery; they said it was healing just fine with the antibiotics!
cantdeletebutimgone·
@scx327 well I'm glad your doing better and you didn't need surgery 😀 I pass no judgement. Sometimes things just happen and you make the best of it and thankfully you can start breastfeeding. How has that been going for you these past couple days?
-_-·
@mommiesaremagical14, yes hopefully after this clears, I'll change my mind about breastfeeding *crosses fingers* I have a hole in my right breast and I can't breastfeed from that until it heals, mostly because of the pain so I have been hand expressing :) and I've been pumping from my left one so it's so far so good minus the pain lol thank you for asking :)

@scx327 Wow, good for you. You're a very strong woman!!! 💪 I'm glad your doing well and handling everything so greatly. Seems like your doing an amazing job. Your welcome 😀
