I'd invest in a good thermometer so you could check when you need to ease your worries.

CVS has the 3in1 thermometer with a special butt one, so you don't have to worry about mixing it up or putting it too far in. That was a lifesaver in the beginning. I swear I took his temp several times a week because I was worried he felt warm.
