I need some tips and ideas. We’re going on a mini vacation next week. Leaving Wednesday morning about 8 am to Myrtle beach which is about 6+ hours away from us. Usually Dakota loves car rides. I’m afraid that the really long one might be too much for her tho. I plan on taking some pit stops to let her out and stretch and change diaper of course and plenty of toys and snacks but is there anything else that might help? I don’t want her to scream bloody murder the last few hours of the car ride

The only tip I can really give (I took several 10+ hour car rides with my daughter) is to leave and make sure you have plenty of daylight hours. Once it turned dark outside, my daughter would scream unless one of us was in the back with her because she’s rear facing. I know that bothered her. Other than that, sounds like you are planning to do all the right things. Hope you have a great vacation by the way 😄

The last few hours of our 11 hour travel day I caved and let him play with my phone. We had exhausted all other means of entertainment. He was 9m for that trip.
I brought his normal naptime stuff so he'd nap in the car, snacks, new toys, books, music, dressed him in pj's so he'd be comfy, and stopped often. The trip home I pulled out his favorite movie on the iPad. That helped for a bit.

We used a car DVD player and my son did great for about 12 hours

@jessicarose0602, that’s what we’re doing my SO wanted to leave at night but she doesn’t like car rides at night so I knew that’d be a bad idea lol and thank you 💞

@nomli, she likes to play on my phone especially when I turn her favorite song on so she can hear it really good lol
