I struggled with that for so long then my son finally learned it was ok to fall asleep on his own he still like to nurse first though. 10 to 15 minutes I think unless they are really upset then it makes it hard .. u got this mama

@julieaforseth, ok but how long did you allow him to cry.. I've tried letting him cry it out, both with me in sight and not in the room. He cries just as hard... like well over 20 mins and I knew nothing was wrong. He fed 30 mins, burped, then started to drift off. I put him in the crib then Boom! Like wth??

@delamorena2121, he was the same at 5 months too maybe he's just not ready. I slept in the same room till he was 8 months and made a bed on the floor. So I was there to get him straight back to sleep. I often had to hold him for half an hour before I could put him down fell asleep with him in my arms a lot! Its exhausting haha. It was at like 9 months he would finally start to sleep with back rubs and not being in my arms

@delamorena2121, try not putting him down so soon I know you probably don't want to "spoil" home but maybe he needs to be in your arms longer until he is actually sleeping sleeping 🤷🏽‍♀️ just a suggestion maybe try tonight Calyssa was the same way for a bit o started putting her down maybe 20 mins or so after she already fell asleep in my arms

@sashie same. I wait until she is passed out and roll her off me. She stays asleep .. and when she wakes in the night, she latches on for 5mins then rolls off herself and goes back to sleep.

@julieaforseth, @julieaforseth, @sashie, @tlistboom, 3rd night of son screaming till he chokes in his crib... doesn't matter how long I leave him sleeping in my arms. I don't know what to do. Feel like I'm going crazy.

U might just have to sleep with him in your arms for now or beside u and try again later at 6 months it sounds like he's not ready

U got to do what's best for u too so u can take care of him and have the strength to go on every day

It won't happen quickly.

He isn't ready .. Claudia took up to a year and even now still is clingy some nights.

Have patience and do what you need to do to stay sane and have both of you getting sleep.

If he is going through any changes (ie teething, weaning, solids, etc), changing his sleep pattern too may be too much right now.

@delamorena2121, I agree with @tlistboom, Calyssa is the same way sometimes all she wants is body heat he is still young so if he needs you to sleep with him go for it girl don't let it stress you out 😌
