Ok mommas, I've been breast feeding my baby girl, but she has thrush. So yesterday I didn't pump but 3 times because it hurt so bad.. And today I've had like no milk supply. And I've been umping every hour to try and get it built back up, but now my size d boobies look like a b. I have no milk what so ever in them. How do I get it back? She is such a great feeder I don't want to stop! I'm so sad and upset.
Yes just wipe before you feed. Pump every 2 hours until you can get baby back to breast. I have fed a baby with a tongue tie, pieces of my nipple were falling off and bleeding. I truly understand your pain. My daughter wouldnt take a bottle so i bite a leather strap and pushed on. Trust, i had to talk to myself before latching because i thought i would die. It does get better. If i was near you i would have hold your hand for sure.
Many moms decide to use gentian violet for thrush as antibiotics can take FOREVER to clear it. There's lots of info online about gentian violet. Meanwhile, after feeding you can soak your nipples in water of baking soda solution for a few minutes then air dry. Ratios 1tsp to 8oz water. Baby mouth can also be swabbed with this solution. Add a good probiotic to yours and babies diet and avoid sugars until it clears. Cold coconut oil can soothe your nipples and also help with the infection.
@beebaby only if you can hold my hand while I cry. Lol.
I started putting her in about 2 hours ago. My lactation consultant said if it was hurting to bad that pumping would keep up my supply. She was so wrong. What should I do about her thrush though? Just clean before and after? And can I put the cream on more than twice a day since I have to wipe it off when she feeds? I'm so lost right now. I've never had this issue. I just want it to go away. We were doing great and on a schedule. 😭😭😭
