You have a right to refuse the test - gestational diabetes is a hoax unless you have lived with diabetes pre-pregnancy. These drinks spike your blood sugar which causes your babies BS to spike! Imagine how it makes you feel after that drink, not think if you were as small as your fetus/baby...
Id love to share my facts and findings with moms who question the system, WOC especially need to investigate what these doctors are asking you to do because you are at the highest risk of being taken advantage of, lied to and POISONED. Our medical system is part of the corporate system that only cares about MONEY! Your child is worth more than any amount of money and you need to protect them.
Doctors seem helpful under the guise that they care but that is not the case with all doctors, or midwives. Most of them and trained to do what they do and nothing else. Eating a balanced and healthy diet and staying away from their DRUGS an dPOISON is the only sure fire way you and your baby will be truly healthy.

@littleonemorning, well theres your reason, you have a history of diabetes.... just remember though there are other options than the drink they give you. you really should look into it. and also depending if its type 1 or type 2 you may still not be at any risk. diabetes is one of those illnesses that is very treatable with lifestyle adjustments. i grew up in a house with a nurse that worked specifically in the diabetes medical care feild so ive seen a lot of the story that goes behind it. the best thing you can do is arm yourself with knowledge that you find, not just what your doctors say.
@laurenvey, still disagree but that's fine to each their own like you said. I had it with my first and diabetes runs in my family, so again, I've seen first hand what goes on. I will be taking the test again. But thank you for the info!
I have to disagree with you.
The drinks are supposed to spike your blood sugar to test how your body responds to it as well as your baby. If you have gestational diabetes which can be controlled by meds and a healthy diet, but not always. You have a higher chance of a stillbirth and other complications at the time of birth.
I will agree that the drinks are for sure not the best for you.
