For me they had me go in the day before to get blood drawn, and to admit me so that way the next day all I had to do was go to labor and delivery 2 hours before the surgery time. They'll shave you, put you on monitors, prep ypur iv, give you a sedative if its needed, a whole bunch of doctors and nurses come in to discuss what part they will play in the operating room and recovery room. During the operation make sure they let your spouse trim the cord and you can have your spouse do skin to skin. During recovery you are able to do skin to skin and breastfeed. They push on your stomach to make sure everything is okay (hurts like a bitch ) and this is every half hour or hour depending on place. You're monitored and then after about 2-3 hours they send you to your room which you stay there for 3-4 days.
Also they have you walk to the operating room and you get the spinal there. Make sure its the spinal and not the epidural. Also make sure to tell them when your nauseous, dizzy or anything else. Every time I got nauseous it was cuz my blood pressure would drop
