yyyyyyyyyyyy

My pediatrician told me the standard to lay him on his back no blankets or nothing in the crib. And this was my first so I didn't know what to do but follow what the doctor said and did just that. Then his head started getting flat. Then the Dr complained about that. Now to put him on his side. Like wtf do you want from me. Tell me one thing then complain the next. And at this point my baby only liked to sleep on his back so it was a struggle for him to sleep on his side. So I had to prop him with stuff even tho they said not to put anything in there with them. Annoying..

Pediatricians advise against it, but all my kids have slept in a bassinet or crib since birth on their stomachs or sides, I also kept them swaddled until they wiggled out of it or until they outgrew a sleep sack,

Also alternate left and right side sleeping during nap time when you can watch them so they don't get "flat head"

My pediatrician says for newborns to sleep in kind of am upright position but if they do lay down flat then it's on their backs, no pillows or blankets or stuffed animals and possibly a "head forming pillow" when they get a little older

You could do it and your baby might be fine. However, there's a huge risk. Studies have shown that putting infants to sleep on their back reduces SIDS risk more than 50%. My mom was told to put me on my stomach and I'm fine, but is it worth the risk?? It really isn't that long until they start rolling themselves over to their tummies and then it's no longer a risk. Swaddling, white noise, pacifiers, being in a bassinet next to me.... all helped my baby sleep better. Around 2 1/2 months he started sleeping thru the night

Absolutely not. Hospitals and doctors strongly advise against it. One of the reasons for SIDS. Tho back in the day, my mom did it with all of us kids, but I wouldn't feel safe doing it with my baby. They can't lift their heads well or have the common sense to move their heads from side to side if they couldn't breathe. When they're old enough to turn and roll on their own, then yeah we can't control that, and they have a better chance of making sure not to suffocate.
