I found the cutest shoes for my son but do I really want to spend 30$ on them? Especially when I…

Is he walking? Does he need more support than crib shoes when outside? I bought him $35 shoes last month, and plan to get at least two more pairs for the fall. Plus his winter boots, but they were clearance.

I'm lucky we have a kids consignment shop up the road from my house and I buy everything from there. I bought my son a band new pair of shoes for $2! Kids consignment is the greatest idea ever!

@nomli, @eryka616, @inkedsouthernbelle, he isn't walking yet but he will be soon enough. So when he is is like him to have a nice pair of shoes to wear. I was going to get him these little boots from Walmart but they were big on him. He's only like a 2-2.5 and most places only sell 3 and up

I'd wait to get him walking shoes, then. You never know when his foot will grow!

They're a bit pricey, but Robeez shoes start at a 2 for beginner walkers, the ones with a harder but still flexible sole. StrideRite stores usually carry some, since it's a StrideRite brand.

@nomli, yeah my mom and grandma swear by stride rite for first baby walking shoes. These little shoes though I found are so cute ! But since I'm going to be dishing out like 50$ for stride rites I guess I should save it for them

His first pair of real shoes were sandals from StrideRite. $40, sigh. At least he's gotten 5+ months out of em.

It's so hard....There are such cute shoes, but man do they cost a lot!!The ones I have my heart set on are $53. Then there's the $35 I spent on his Chucks. For shoes they'll outgrow in five months....and then I want him to have regular sneakers, too! At least his winter boots were clearance for $10.

@nomli, yeah carters had there crib shoes for 10$ last week so I'm like ooh I'm buying some lol so now he has 2 sneakers, 1 casual shoes and 1 boot.. For now. His feet have been the slowest thing to grow on him lol but when he starts walking which will probably be next month or two I want him to have good shoes for his feet plus it will be winter so I want them to be warm too. Probably cost me a fortune I still need to get him a winter coat which Won't be cheap either

Ooo, I love Carter's. The boots I got him are Carter's. But oh, I just want to skip a winter coat this year! All the ones I've found are still $60+. For something he'll wear a handful of times. I'll just put him in layers and a blanket. He didn't like snow last year, so he was in that winter coat four times, total.

My neice had super tiny feet until she was almost 3, and they had such a hard time finding shoes. My son doesn't have that problem....15 months and a size 5.5/6.

@nomli, do you have a Kmart near you? We got my daughters snow jacket for $35 @missjess, they sell moccasins that will fit him but they’re $40 as well

@eryka616, no, as far as I know they all closed years ago. His winter coat last year was from Babies R Us and was $35, but we got it later in the season. Total waste. He wore it four times for maybe five minutes each.

@nomli, my dad got like 4 large garbage bags full of used clothes for my son last year. There were snow suits too so this one he got to wear most of the winter. I got him a nice pea coat from a consignment shop for fall but I doubt it will fit him come November.
