I've only had one exam my whole pregnancy. In the very beginning. How do they know if you're dilated or not? Usually my Dr visits are just asking if I'm fine and if I have any questions, then listen to the baby's heart beat. Basically it. Is that normal that they are so uninvolved it seems like

Where I live they don't check for dilation anymore. The risk of infection outweighs the benefits of knowing. You can check yourself you know!

@believeinbuddha good to know, thanks. With my first I was high risk so I think that's why they were so involved come to think of it. This one is so different.

They do the same to me, I'm guessing if there is nothing wrong then they don't have to check

They just check the heart rate and measure my stomach and ask me if I'm fine.

My doctor didn't start checking for dilation until I was 36 weeks now they check every week I go in. So maybe they will check soon lol
