Girls! How do I get Maya off the boob? I'm still confused to why she wants it so much...when she has cups of cows milk and 3 meals ans snacks and water...It doesn't help that if she falls etc and she cries my mum cant stand the noise so tells me to stick in in her mouth...this has gone on awhile..so she now knows it will be there if she whines or makes a noise etc.....She sees it as a comfort thing I guess. She will be 2 in January and I really want my body back lol! 😂😂 She still sleeps with me as I've not come close to getting her to sleep on her own... It's just getting me down a bit now slightly...BF wants to go out for an evening and I don't have anyone to watch Maya...plus she still doesn't sleep through at night...relies on my boob to get her to sleep etc

Well I don't know how to help wean her off the boob but I have heard a lot about it being a comfort thing! Maybe that's why she still wants it so much
Good luck mama!

Just literally stop it all, that's what I had to do with Brody. She will cry and get upset but you'll just have to say no and stick at it 🤔 brody's three and when he's asleep sometimes he still tries to put his hand down my top to touch my boobs 😂 it's deffo a comfort thing with them.

I agree with @beffgoude I had to literally go cold turkey with Skyla one night because she was feeding in her sleep and co slept with me still does and would wake up about 5 times. It took 2 nights of crying but now she is on the bottle and is so much better for it. She sleeps through now and it means I can leave her with anyone. Best thing I ever did wish I'd done it earlier. It's hard but sometimes you have to just persevere hun x

@ells123 No, she's never had a dummy...kinda regret not giving her one now lol 😂@chesscalouise2 Yeah she has a cot...has slept in it for naps and half of the night a few times but has basically always been in my bed as wouldnt sleep anywhere else... @beffgoude @mum2sky Hmm I've thought about just stopping it...but she just shouts bobbie at me and gets hysterical...and tells me to sit down to give it to her 😂😂 😣 I've just gone out and bought a breast pump so will see what happens haha... see how much I can express and put it in a cup for tonight...I dont mind her being on the boob in the day..but want her to have a cup at night..ive tried a cup of milk and water before bed..and she will happily take it..but after the 6oz of cows milk...she will want the boob and still drinks breast milk 😂😂🤔 xx

@winterbaby95 it's comfort babe. I don't think she's hungry. If you give it to her during the day I dno personally I think it's better to just stop because it might confuse her and she's clever she's going to cry and stuff because she knows you will give in eventually. It's completely up to you but I tried to do it during the day and none at night and it didn't work for me so I had to go cold turkey and like I said it worked eventually. Good luck hun x

I wouldn't bother putting her in a cot now try her in a toddler bed xx @winterbaby95

@winterbaby95 it's deffo a comfort, we got to the stage where he wouldn't want it through day but when he got tired that was it boob was all he wanted. He also co-slept with me, i put him straight into a bed. Was a struggle, but tackle one thing at once otherwise might be to much of a shock for her xxx

Yes it's just a comfort thing now hun.... With Carter I swapped his bottle for a beaker and he cried for a few hours but you just have to stick to it and not give in. If they are hungry then they will drink it eventually... cruel to be kind.
I did the same with the sleeping. Carter went in cot at 3 months but now he's 2 in December and sleeps in a toddler bed.... I take him to bed awake after his bath. He sits on his bed and has is beaker of milk ( the only milk he has all day is bed time bottle) and then he goes to sleep on his own in his room... the first few night was screaming but if you stick to it they get used to the routine and thrn they do it by themselves.
I took his dummy off him cold turkey in July and has screaming for 3 nights but then he forgot about it and now he still doesn't have it at all...
It really is cruel to be kind but in the long run you'll be so much better off. Carter used to wake up through the night looking for his dummy and I'd have to go in like 3 4 times but now he doesn't have it. He doesn't wake up at all x
