Make a list of things you NEED to pay for, want to pay for. Cross things off that don't make the cut 😂 when you do the PFL and if you also applied for bonding its 8 weeks paid.

@juliaschade41 yeah that's the plan at this point, I've been pretty good about putting something away every week, and any extra money I have before I get paid, I put away! Hopefully it will last a little while 🤞

@kambam, yeah I'm trying to put away money now for my half of rent and my bills, luckily she's coming in winter so there's not a whole to do during winter since it gets so damn cold here in MN.. I'll try calling my HR to see about the 8 weeks paid, I was told by my pregnant coworker it's only 6 weeks paid

That's what my understanding was too but I did apply for the bonding and counted all my payments that came it. It was 8 of them at 60% so hopefully that's the case for you as well. but yes I worked 2 jobs, some side jobs and saved like crazy.

@beebaby, ugh that must be nice, I make more then he does, I work as a nurse, he works in sales.. so he gets a huge commission check in the middle of the month but the first of the month he get just base pay, but he's in the process of getting a new job that has a much higher pay so once he gets started with that, that should help 👍🏼

@kambam, so when you applied for leave, you just ask about the bonding or what did you do??

Its on the application/online. You apply for it after the baby arrives if I remember correctly.

I got everything I needed before and saved up like crazy so I would have at least what I would've made in that time. Plus I got paid for some of my maternity leave.
