Got a phone hearing today for my daughter's braces. Her insurance think her needing braces "is not medically necessary". She has a tooth that is not coming in bc teeth on both sides of it won't move to let it come all the way in. She is in pain bc that tooth keep trying to push thru. But her insurance let another dentist look at her case n determine if it's necessary for her to have braces to push the teeth out of the way....ok I don't understand that logic. If I wanted a second opinion I would have got one myself. Smh so I appealed her case n instead of looking at me in my face to try my case they set me up a phone hearing with a non associated judge. So I suppose to sit by the phone from 1pm to 4pm n wait on their call. Crazy...My baby better know what I go thru for her....

Left side middle of mouth. She is only 13 yrs old n I don't think why she have to get her adult tooth pulled when she is this young. They can atleast pay for a partial right? Something to replace the tooth will more likely pay for to take out.

@taylorsmommy10817 well the good news I got out of the phone hearing was that the "expert witness" they had told me that my daughter case didn't call for an orthodontist in the first place. He pointed out that her crown was set too high n was crowding the space needed for her tooth to grow in. He said I need to go back to the dentist. N with that I felt stupid n not intimidated anymore. I didn't know that was the case he told me to tell them to look at tooth number 30. I swear I cried after that call bc I was so misinformed by her dentist n the orthodontist. My baby in pain for nothing bc of them. I couldn't believe it they denied the braces understandably but he gave me valuable information about the issue
