I submitted some of my art for consideration in an art show and was selected to be an artist on display. I thought it was awesome until no one else did. I didn't get much feedback from my friends and my husband gave me a very bland and unenthusiastic "that's cool." After I told him. Idk maybe it's not a big deal. I guess it doesn't matter anyway. I'll just fade back into the background as I fold laundry.

Girl, first of all, CONGRATULATIONS. The fact that you are so talented and skilled that you're getting your artwork displayed for everyone to see is AMAZING. You should be very proud of yourself. How many of these people that aren't excited about it had their art work displayed?? Uuh? None? You worked hard doing something you love, and it paid off. I don't think I'm going to do it now. It's been spoiled. I just wanted him to sincerely say he was proud of me. It turned into a competition of who knows more about what the other one does. It only feeds my feelings of inadequacy and he doesn't care. Because nothing I do is ever good enough. It's been that way my whole life. I don't know why I thought this would be different.

You should do it for you. It is sooo exciting! And other peoples jealousy comes out by them putting you down. Do this for you and don't let anyone else stop you.
