My son has age appropriate chores and he'll be 18 months on Sept. 26th. Some people may agree with this technique, some may disagree. He helps to unload dishes from the dishwasher and place them in the cabinets, he helps put clothes in the washing machine as well as take them out of the dryer. He places his toys where they belong and sometimes he tries to help with vacuuming (with adult assistance). He also helps to water the plants. He loves to cleanup (he has his own cleaning set) and loves kitchen utensils (probably because he watches me cook often).

For my daughter's birthday, she's getting kiddie sized cleaning supplies to practice for when she gets older lol Also a purse filled with fun trinkets. But she will help with chores and keeping the house put together. We are already working on manners. My in laws don't teach their kids to say "yes ma'am" "yes sir" "no sir" "no ma'am" .. that's so important to me! My children will be polite and proper. As soon as their age appropriate, they will be enrolled in cotillion courses. Their cousins can be little rude brats, but I refuse! Hubs is in aggreance lol!
