Well depends on baby but my son is almost 8 weeks and drinks anywhere from 3-4 ounces but he feeds almost every two hours except at night

That is good. Babies should drink 1 to 1.5 ounce per hour no matter how old.

@ecahanes, she feeds every 3 hrs sometimes a little before. I'm just curious cause at first I was only pumping 2oz of breast milk (combined from both boobs) every 2/3hrs. but now, as of yesterday I started to get 3 1/2 or 4 oz. I was just worried that she'll start wanting more soon but what if I didn't have enough? 😰

Do you breastfeed or pump only

@beebaby, I was breastfeeding for the first 5 days but after that I just started pumping, because she was having trouble latching on sometimes and she'd get really frustrated & would non stop cry & she wouldn't sleep much. Now her routine is so much better and only cries when she's hungry lol

Aw okay. You try to latch. That will help regulate supply better to suit babies needs if possible. During the first 4 to 6 weeks your supply is all over the place and never the same.

@beebaby, I said I was gonna breastfeed her at least once a day when I started pumping but I haven't done that. My nipples hurt so much from nursing the first 5 days that I dread latching her on I know I should but a huge part of me is just like 😣

I understand but it is part of the process. They gotta get used to a different lifestyle of nursing. Its takes a few weeks but is less taxing than a pump for sure. You may not respond well to a pump all the time

@beebaby, yea I know 😔 I'm starting to get more now when I pump but I will get her back on the boob soon
