How many centimeters do you have to be before your get an epidural? I'm always afraid I'll wait to…

I think 8 is the latest they will go and i think you have to be lik 4 or 5 to be admitted to the hospital.. My water broke so they took me at 4 and i had my epi at 7, so i would look into it more

You have to be at least 4cm here to get an epidural

I was 6 when I got mine but I was In labor for 16 hours by the time I pushed which was for 4 hours after being in labor the epidural wore off. Goo as long as possible..

(I was induced) I was about 1cm and I begged for my epidural because the cervix checks were so painful. I was told I had to wait until I was 4 cm. But they gave it to me at 1 cm anyways and broke my water at the same time. I was told 7cm is the cutoff for any kind of pain medication

@starwars-mom cervix checks are painful I experienced my first one last Thursday and I was like there's no way I can take other one of these must less give birth lol

Im doing it again only because my belly did stay numb. I felt him coming out even the shot to numb me for the episiotomy. They said I could of had a c section from how funky my epidural was put in.
