I'm starting to wonder if my son has sensory issues. He freaks out with how certain things feel, he constantly is rubbing his blanket with his fingers, hates when his hands are dirty. Are these signs??

My daughter wouldn't touch anything the longest time , she was and is in live with silky material, but eventually it got better

@sallygogoladze his blanket his soft and fuzzy. But he plays with it with his index fingers.

No he's okay. I know a lot of kids like that. It's just like taking babies to the beach, they mostly hate sand. It's normal, he'll get better with time

@tabby.clark I hope, someone said about having early intervention come take a look at him and see if there's any issues.

My 5 year old is still like this, constantly washing her hands because if it and won't eat meat because of certain textures. Her doctor and teacher swears it's normal behaviors and she'll keep an eye on it and see if we need to do something

@ashleydunn I haven't talked to his doctor yet but I will next visit.

@acesmomma, yes bring it up if you're concerned. I would be more pushy but it doesn't affect my daughters learning .. yet.. which is why I notified the teacher of my concerns. I even explained how upset she'll get if she can't wash her hands. I thought she'd outgrow it but I was wrong. Sad to say I get so happy seeing my youngest get her hands and face filthy because that means she won't be like older sissy (not that anythings wrong just overwhelming)

@ashleydunn I have a nurse who comes every 2 weeks to make sure he's learning and doing things his age should be. Its called Nurse Family Partnership. They help first time mom's up until they turn 2. She doesn't seem too concerned. She said if I am to talk to his doctor. So I'll definitely be bringing it up next visit. Not that id be mad or anything just definitely overwhelming when he's so picky.

@acesmomma, oh yes it's the pickiness, always have to be clean but my daughter also like can't process her emotions.. like she's overly sensitive so that's also overwhelming..
