Moms,
Today's chat is with @jordyn_beth 🎊
We're chatting on being a student while raising a baby!
Here's her bio:
My name is Jordyn. I am a junior in college and I work at a Boys and Girls Club. I also own my own health and wellness business through It Works. My boyfriend Ben is in the national guard and is a manager at Culver's. Our son Bradley is 8 months old and such a happy baby!

Here are some tips about attending school and raising a baby:
1. Get organized and stay clean. A messy area can make keeping responsibilities straight a lot harder. Every Sunday I make sure our house and my car is spotless. I clean out my backpack and pumping bag to make sure I'm organized and have everything.
2. Communicate with professors. Accidents happen. You may forget an assignment or you can't come to class because your baby is sick. If you talk with your professors early on, they probably will be willing to work with you! They want to see you succeed, so they should help you.
3. Write everything down. Need to check out a book? Read something? Grocery shop? Write it down in a planner and check that planner multiple times a day. It will be a lifesaver. Even if you think you'll remember it, write it down.
4. Ask for help! You're taking on a lot, and you shouldn't be expected to do it on your own. See if a family member can watch your baby so you can get work done. Find a classmate who can get notes for you if you can't be there. Take care of yourself. You can't be the best mom and student if you aren't taking care of yourself too. You don't need to be perfect!

@smilingwithmyawesome4kids, friends and family. I have a decent sized following on social media so they often buy products too
@smilingwithmyawesome4kids, be genuine about it and build relationships! I truly love the products, but I don't push the business on people. It does take work because money isn't free. You can't expect to get rich fast. With some hard work and motivation you can be successful 😊
@ramonoariana01, for high school, your best bet is to talk to your counselor! They can help you figure out times :)
@summyrhandjace, sort of yes! Have you talked to your guidance counselor? They're probably going to become your best friend at school when it comes to issues and questions
@ramonoariana01, my campus actually has lactation rooms! I scheduled my classes with breaks in between. If they are full I pump in my car
@jordyn_beth, no questions but good ideas from a fellow junior with a preschooler and baby in college 👍🏼
@jordyn_beth, thank you ❤️ ...it really is !!!
@jordyn_beth, yes I am either in California where I'm at rn or in Arizona when I move
@alexanderdavidmommy2k15, ohh okay! Well if you have any questions about that or school, let me know😊are you planning on starting school again?
@jordyn_beth I just finish my Bachelor's of Art degree in Complementary and Alternative Health. Congratulations on being to juggle motherhood, work and school.
@jordyn_beth, oh ok I've tried it works it just didn't work for me
@alexanderdavidmommy2k15, for example, I'm a distributor for It Works! I share about the products and get paid for it. I went through sallie mae when I went to a private school. It sucks, but whatever works!
@jordyn_beth, what's network marketing and ok thanks I'll look up private loans
@amichelle2, you can do it!! It's great motivation 💚 especially knowing that other moms are going through it too!
@alexanderdavidmommy2k15, have you checked? I'm not entirely sure how that would work. If not, there's private loans, but you have to pay them right away. Maybe try to find a side gig? I do network marketing as well as run a blog from my phone and computer to make extra cash!
This such common sense but I swear on my babies I needed this soooooo bad..I started school when my son was 8/9 months but now that I have my daughter and won't be able to start until the spring ..it seems like something hard to balance and keep organized..and I feel like I wanna quit school ..I also want to start wrkin again..I remind myself everyday that I can do this and will pass every class jus like before !! Only diff now is that I have two babies to grind hard for !!
@jordyn_beth, thanks I'll keep this in mind when I move and go back in Jan but do u have any tips on how to pay bc I doubt financial aid will want to help anymore
@alexanderdavidmommy2k15, I found a daycare I LOVE. I drive 20 minutes one way everyday so my son can go there. I have a good relationship with my advisor at school, so she can steer me toward classes with more understanding professors. I make sure I tell them right away I have a son. I don't use him as an excuse, but that way if there is a problem, the relationship is set up right from the start. Make sure you stay very organized and ask for help when you need it :) remember why you keep trying to go back to school. It's something you want! Remind yourself of that why whenever you feel like quitting
@queentero, if your mom is willing, let her do it! Definitely don't try to be super mom. I have to schedule out every little thing in my planner (when I eat lunch, when I pump, etc). That's the only way I stay on task. When I have free time I make sure 100% of my attention is on my son because we don't get a lot of time together during the school year
How did You continue going to school without being distracted? I've drop out 3 times and I want to go back I just don't trust no one to watch my son. Any tips on how to go back to school?
How do I manage my time with school, work and my life, my husband is in the army so he's on deployment and my mom is going to help me with my daughter but I don't want her watching the baby all the time, I have my bachelors in nursing but I'm getting my masters in nurse practitioner. HELP
@taishonnat, of course!! I'm so proud of you for following through with your education even through all the challenges😊
@jordyn_beth, don't really have a question just want to say THANKS! You inspire me to keep pushing with college while raising my 3 year old
Hey guys! I'm pumping right now, and I'm here to answer any questions and I will be most of the night!
Wow awesome post.I needed that
