I've never shared anything like this on here before but all of my girlfriend's are bias to the topic... I've been thinking about leaving my husband for a little while now. Disclaimer: he hasn't done anything wrong. I just feel as though I've fallen out of love with him. I love our daughter of course and I appreciate everything he has done for us. But I just don't feel that love I used to feel for him. When we kiss I feel nothing, except I kinda feel like I don't want to be kissing him. I just feel like we're 2 friends living together and I don't like it. I'm starting to resent him for it when it really isn't his fault.

@emily526, have you tried doing the things you guys used to do when you fell in love? I know sometimes people just fall out of love and nothing you try to do fixes it but maybe if you haven't already you should try doing the things you used to do. Like flirt or go on dates that you used to go on or something similar

@caseyann19 I have told him how I'm feeling and he has tried to help and make things better. I think he might be under the impression this is an easy fix. I'm not sure he understands just how deep it actually goes and idk how to explain that to him without hurting his feelings. We did try to go on a couple dates and they did help but I find myself nit-picking at the little things he does and then getting annoyed. The trouble is with me I just can't seem to enjoy myself anymore.

@emily526, I k ow it's easier said than done but maybe try to find the little things you do/did lie about him and try to focus on those more than the things that annoy you. I think maybe you're to the point where you feel so out of love that you can't see the point in trying and I agree that he doesn't really see how deep it is but maybe you should try talking to him again and telling him how it is so maybe he will try a little harder

That happened with my last ex....but it was because he was lazy, lied, and never cleaned up after himself, so that's different.

Have you tried to do things you love to do? Take a class, find a hobby, something for yourself? Not that anything is wrong with you, but sometimes finding little things that bring you joy outside of the relationship help to revitalize the relationship.

@caseyann19 I think we definitely both need to try a bit harder. I'm sure it's because now that we're parents our dynamic has changed as well.

@gabismommy0223 I did look into that as well, and he agreed it would be a good idea. Just have to find a place that accepts our insurance.

@nomaci I really don't do anything I like to do which probably adds to my bitterness as well. I find I get most agitated when our daughter goes down for a nap or goes to bed at night, he hops on his Xbox or something and I go and fold the laundry or finish whatever chores he hasn't gotten to (which sometimes feels like all of them). So I really don't get that time to relax. We talked about that and he was helpful for a few days but now he's back to running to the Xbox.

Oh god, Xbox. I hate that thing. That and WoW. There were days I wouldn't even see my ex because of those damn games. We didn't have a child, though. But I left him after way too many broken promises to change, to help out more, to stop playing video games so much, etc, so if you really think it would be best, of course I'd say leave, since that's what I finally did.

Definitely part of the reason you're bitter is that he doesn't help much. Did you tell him that you were thinking about leaving, or just that you wanted his help more?

@nomaci He does help out a lot so I do feel bad for complaining. He's a stay at home dad during the day so he takes care of our little one until I get home. But I can literally feel how badly he wants to go run and play his game. And sometimes I'll come home and the chores aren't done. I understand it's a lot of work taking care of a child, but I do it all day on the weekends and I still manage to vacuum, do laundry, clean the house, make dinner, clean her bottles, etc.

Yeah...I'm a SAHM, and I know how much work a child is, especially once they become toddlers. But most days I still manage to get dishes, laundry, vacuuming, etc, done, while changing diapers, feeding him, playing with the boy, cleaning up his messes, and I then get dinner made. With a child who doesn't like napping much anymore. (It was so much easier before he became mobile...)

@nomaci That's why I foresee this becoming an even bigger issue. Right now she does nap twice a day. I know he goes and he plays his game when she's napping because I've witnessed it and on the days my parents are over there they see it as well. Don't get me wrong I play Xbox as well and sometimes we play together. But I play when everything is taken care of not before.

I'll admit there are days where I don't want to do any housework and decide to work double the next day, days where the boy is a total nightmare and nothing gets done, or days where everything went wrong and the fiance comes home to find me crying, surrounded by toys and clothes (like today). But, if his only reason for not getting things done is that he played video games, that's not an excuse, and it shouldn't be left for you. If he won't do anything to change that, maybe leaving, even for a little bit, will help him shape up. Or have him go back to work and switch places, get a babysitter or housekeeper a few times a month. You're right, it'll only get worse.
