Stress test today , what should I expect ladies ? First appt my husband won't make it for so I'm super blah about it. But , it's a lot going on at work he has to be there for.

They're going to hook a little machine up to your belly and monitor the baby's heart rate while you have any contractions to make sure that the baby doesn't become stressed/heart rate drops. That way they'll get an idea of how the baby reacts during actual labor and delivery.

They will essentially monitor baby's heart rate and how it increases and decreases with movement. They will also track contractions if you're having any. It's very simple and you pretty much just lay there.

Mine usually took an hour, but on top of getting on the fetal monitors I also had ultrasounds. The last month of my first pregnancy I had to have NST 2x a week, and for my second I was hospitalized at 28 weeks and pretty much had 24/7 fetal monitoring. 😭 but typically an hour sounds about right. I may have been hooked up for an hour and a half with my first.
