Today my heart shattered, it broke into a million little pieces and I couldn't understand it. I had a patient a little girl who has so much life ahead of her. Shes approximately 5 yrs old her parents spoke no English so it was fine with me because even though English is my first language, Spanish is my second. Sometimes to make children feel comfortable you have to build a relationship but the little girl just cried as she looked at me such a young soul & said " you know I might not get this chance " what chance I said she replied with " a chance to be a nurse, my parents have explained to me that I was brought here when I was a year old and people say this isn't my country but I want to stay " i afterwards left the room and broke down because she's innocent and she deserves her chance, her parents were looking for hope and now this little girl might never get it :(
