When me and my boyfriend got together i came into this relationship with my own bills ( car note, car insurance, cell phone bill, 2loans etc) all he had was rent and light bill and groceries and would wtill have like 500 to play w . These past three months i have used every last dollar to pay the rent and been dead broke when it was all said it done. But we managed to scrape by and keep the apartment etc. now my bf has a job and still expects me to help on the rent excerpt i want to knock these loans out get current w my car note so next month i can focus on getting ready for baby. When i was growing up my father paid the mortage and all the bills and my mom took care of us ... i thought that was how it was suppose to be... but im guessing not he wants to go halfsies on everything and i think its unfair bc either way im broke w no money to myself and he has money for wheneber ... idk advice ? Money is the last thing i wanna be stressing about ... plus i have a babyshower coming up and i need to get ready for that .. like i want to look my absolute best smh ...

I agree with you, I might be old school or whatever but going halves on everything is more like being roommates than a couple, my husband and i share accounts, I don't have a job right now but when I did, his check would go for the bigger bills and mine would basically be for the smaller stuff like groceries, gas and myself, it was kinda like an unspoken agreement, is recommend you to talk to him about it and ask him how he really thinks bills should be paid

Exactly what im trying to say. & idk if its the kind of girls he dated in the past that just did nothing and completely lived off him but i am most defo not tryna do that. Either way i know i will be okay

you should just talk to him about it and tell him how you feel. My fiancé and I just have a joint account and savings account that our money goes into. Have y'all ever thought about doing that or it's not an option?.
