@angelina_cxoxo my advice, do some research on both. If you have any questions about either, message me. I'll be glad to give you the information I have and can tell you about our experience. I'm not against either way, so I am completely unbiased.
Have you done any research on leaving him intact? The infection rates are pretty much identical for both circumcised and intact boys, intact care is super easy, and he wouldn't have to go through the immense pain. If you're interested in any info, let me know. I've got a healthy happy intact 9 month old boy.
Ahhhh thank you so much ladies! They gave me a birth plan today when I went to my appt and they asked about being circumcised & my boyfriend of course said absolutely but I honestly haven't even thought about it!!!! I just feel so scared for my baby:( I know he's a baby and won't even know but still! 😭😭😪

I had my son circumcised and I didn't have no problems. The doctor did his circumcised the same day we was going home from the hospital. He was only 2days old. I couldn't stay with him while he was getting circumcised. That's the only problem I had, because I wanted to stay.
@noahs.mommy I would say he probably screamed no more than if he would have gotten a shot or gotten pinched. It sounds brutal but being there firsthand, it wasn't as bad as I expected.
@noahs.mommy no he wasnt numb. It wasnt this huge traumatic experience either.(which is what I expected) It was very quick. He did scream but it was less than 3 minutes after cutting before they had him bandaged and he was nursing.
@sixplus1 did he not get numbed!? Omg. My ob did my son and they put a crap load of numbing cream on him and made me wait an hour with him so he would be completely numb. He slept the WHOLE time. And he wasn't strapped down either(ik different drs are different) they did strap his legs down but they actually used his onesie and wrapped his arms in it and "swaddleed" his arms. I wasn't allowed to go in but they did let me be with him while they got him ready
For my son that was circumcized, we had to wait 7 days to do it. It was done in the doctors office. His doctor said they prefer parents wait out in the waiting room. I refused, so I sat and watched. He was strapped to a table and a cloth was laid over his body with only his genitals exposed. She cleaned it, got it into position, and cut the skin. He screamed. They bandaged him up and I put him straight on my breast after they handed him to me. He quit crying. We kept it clean and the ointment on it until it healed. He's 3. Never had any problems with it.
I have 2 uncircumcised sons and 1 circumcised. I honestly wish I had done more research before chosen circumcision. Not that we had any problems, I just don't see it as medically necessary.
