What are some good low maintenance annimals for my three year old?

Fish, hermit crab, hamsters are pretty low maintenance, at least the ones i've had were lol

@baileybug I'm afraid the hamster would bite him😕

@masonsmom0609, true, i guess i've just got extremely lucky & haven't had a hamster that likes to bite. maybe because they've all been boys, but hamsters would be good for kids a little older! or with more supervision. you could always hold the hamster and let him pet it and watch it roll around in its little ball lol

@baileybug I've had hamsters and he would love one but even if it was the sweetest hamster. He'd probably squeeze it. I think a hermit crab would do.. Not to hold of course. We're extremely lucky with my rabbit who is so great with my son, which is super hypered.

@baileybug do they take up much space? I really need something super small. Not anything like a big aquarium

Also can you hold them? Do they pinch or bite? Sorry i know nothing about them.

@masonsmom0609, you can get a small shoebox size "habitat" (you can get it where you buy the hermit crab usually). i had a small one that fit 2 hermit crabs, they don't take up much space at all. just make sure they have a wet sponge & food in the bowl & they'll be ok. you can hold them or let them crawl around, but when you hold them make sure your hand is flat in case they decide to pinch (i've never had one pinch me before) but just in case. most of the time if they feel threatened they won't pinch they'll just try & hide in their shell anyways
