Baby boy hasn't used the bathroom since we brought him home at 3 yesterday and only one peed diaper. He's been eating constantly and I'm getting really worried. I called the hospital and she said she can't tell me anything over the phone.
Has anyone else been though this?

They said its normal for breastfed babies to go days without poop. Just keep an eye out for the wet diapers. Did they give you the breastfeeding log?

He may not poop often but he should still have consistent wet diapers.

@sixplus1 @js_kidsmom no my hospital sucked. They didn't give me anything regarding breastfeeding. & he's only had one wet diaper at 7 this morning. Do you think it would be overreacting to take him to the hospital since the doctors offices are closed today. He's been eating every 2-3 hours so I feel like he should have had a few already. We have a doctor appointment with the pediatrician at 9 tomorrow but I'm worried about him going all night if nothing happens. 😔

Also his stomach has been making noise all day and he's had a lot of gas.

I feel like he should have had more by now. Just keep nursing like crazy, every time he will latch let him..breast milk metabolizes so fast so he should have output. I don't think it will hurt to to wait until his appt in the morning but I would definitely mention it then.

Is your milk in fully? If you think he's not eating enough at breast don't b afraid to supplement until you get lactation help. Supplement with your own breastmilk is preferable. Pumping ok but hand expression is better this early. Babies are pretty gassy their first few months of life! Thy outgrow it. Frequent burping, upright laying will help. Introducing formula Will aggravate him more and hinder your breastfeeding. I don't think it's urgent to go hospital just keep him feeding!

Just feed him ALL the time. My son had a day like that while we were in the hospital and they told me to just keep feeding him.

mine wouldnt poop a lot her first week we struggled because she would cry play with his feet and tummy & help him it'll soothe him maybe he'll poop that way just be patient it would take it probably all day and at night when my daughter would be asleep she would be all pooped from how much we tried to help her
