Sapphire has been fussy starting since last tue evening. We figured it was a growth spurt or something but it's gotten worse since then especially when u lay her flat in the bassinet. After trying gas drops and such and seeing her start to scream after aching her back or bringing her knees to her chest I feel something is hurting her and she's not just being fussy. Her ped wasn't open today or yesterday so we tried a walk in clinic today but they won't take her cuz she's too young. So we called the on call ped for advice and he told us it would be a good idea to go to the ER to get her checked since they won't be open until tue and it's been going on for quite a few days. So here we r at the ER and I feel ridiculous especially when the nurse who checked us in was like ur here for a fussy baby? 😔 I'm not over reacting I can tell something it bothering my daughter even if it's just reflux.

@shugatqueen097 that's how I feel but he looked her off and she was healthy. I mentioned about reflux since it bothers her most when laying flat and he said babies r ovr diagnosed with it

I brought my son to er for fussy when he was about a month old and they dismissed it well the next day he spiked 103 fever so we took him to a different er that specializes with babies and they had to do a spinal tap and it turned out he had the viral meningitis and he was a healthy looking baby he was eating well pooping and peeing well if he didn't spike a fever no one would have ever known they would have just said he's fussy

@shugatqueen097 I agree but they were busy and I guess my symptoms sound like it. @laurqxoxo21 that's scary. I've been keeping an eye on her but I havnt noticed a fever at all.

I would have just waited till Tuesday till the pediatric opened. But that's just my opinion. Could be colic could be reflux, or just could be a gas bubble stuck.

@lizyetter_1991 the ped wanted me to get her checked otherwise I wouldn't have gone to the ER and waited. I doubt it's a gas bubble since it's been over 4 days and we have tried gas drops.

After you feed the baby don't lay flat down.always elevate them helps and remember to burp during half of the bottle feeding..I have 3 son's usually 1 always burped if i held up higher up against my shoulder...if u see baby formula come out their nose yes its scary and they'll arch their back and turn red i know scary.. Just keep an eye.glad your baby is okay.some er drs shouldn't be. In miami they actually have a children's hospital.it is a diff when u go to a reg hospital than a children's one

@sherrynygirl I've been trying to let her sit up at least 15mins before laying down after a feeding. We havnt done bottles yet she is breast fed but I do burp or attempt to burp her a few times during and after a feeding. I wish they had ones like that around here. I mean they have one attached to the one big hospital but it's more for like serious health issues.

If it is reflux, reflux is no joke.. My son had it and it was difficult to manage. He would cry pretty much 24/7 and nothing semmed to help. Back arching is a sign of both regular and silent reflux, it sounds like it could be silent reflux. Frequent burping and constant elevation will help her get some relief. They might prescribe zantac when she gets a little bigger if its persistent. I hope its just a bad bout of gas! Hang in there. Youll survive this :) @lillyb

@simplyshantell that's what I was thinking slient reflux. She back arches and pulls her legs up to her chest a lot. She cries during the day but it's worse at night. Thank you dear ♡ I'm going to follow up with her ped hopefully he will want to look at options

I co slept with my son because it was the only relief and the only way he could actually sleep. I would sleep on my side and prop him up on my arm, lol. That is litterally the only way he felt relief at night and thankfully he slept well that way. He needed the comfort. Eventually it got bettter with time.. first let us just hope that shes feeling gassy for some reason and that she will get better. If not, then your ped will work through it with you for the best options. Right now since shes still so little, very frequent burping and keeping her elevated is the best you can do, and watch your diet if breast feeding because it could just be a sensitivity to dairy proteins. Soon, youll know for sure what it is. Just try to relax and be patient, theres a light at the end of the tunnel, I promise. 😊 @lillyb

@simplyshantell yes I found she sleeps best on my chest or beside me with the comfort. We put a blanket under the matress of her bassinet to try so we will see how that works tonight along with burping her every 5 mins during a feeding and for 20 mins after a feeding. Thank you for ur kind words, advice, and reassurance ♡
