S.O.S: so my daughter has been having gas/tummy pains for the past two weeks. the pediatrician said she might've been sucking too much air and that i needed to try new bottles. however shes in so much pain she won't even eat anything else -- her last feeding was at 6 and she only drank 1 oz. and shes just been in and out of sleep but whenever she wakes up she starts screaming and crying all over again. ive tried bicycling her legs, rubbing her stomach, patting her back, warm towel on her tummy, gas drops, warming her bottles and honestly i don't know what else to do. i cant test the new bottles or formula because she wont take anything and i don't know how long she can go without eating anything. any advice would help.

You can try gas drops & maybe warming up her bottles for the future ( my mother thinks warm liquds help with gas)

Buy gas drops. They worked really well for my daughter.

@mommieunicorn maybe its the formula your using and not the bottles. But it seems like your doing every right. I would def continue with the warm bottles, bicycles & tummy rubs. But its the formula then.

@raisinghazel, she was on nutramigen and i was asking the pediatrician for a prescription for it -- because its an expensive formula -- but she told me to try this similac gentle formula and ever since we switched back shes been having the issues. and so im trying to switch her back tonight but she wont even eat now

@mommieunicorn stick a qtip with vaseline in your babies but. I hear it works great for gas and constipation. Desperate times call for desperate measures 😕😕

Ask her pediatrician, but my friend's baby was the same and this formula is great.

@mommieunicorn its supposed to relax the muscles making the gas or poop come out.. maybe try a thermometer if you got 1... ive personally never done it but it was suggestion given to me when i thought my baby was constipated(really was her 1st diaper rash)

Have you tried gripe water or gas drops?

The bottles I use have an air hole to keep them from being gassy. Worth looking into.

@mommieunicorn posted a picture above for you. Gripe water worked wonders for my sister, I haven't personally used it yet.

Aside from that, I would definitely see your pediatrician. Has your baby pooped at all?

@raisingabi, she hasnt sine yesterday morning-- so i know thats whats probably really irritating her. hopefully the gripe water will help push everything out because shes refusing to eat pretty much anything at this point

@mommieunicorn when my daughter wasn't pooping the pediatrician told me to take her temp rectally. That got things moving almost immediately, I would say try that just because she's in pain.

@mommieunicorn yes, don't stick it too far, but it helped my daughter go

Instead of a thermometer, I used the "windi." Its not possible to stick it too far and omg it works. It's made by the company that makes the nose straw thing. The windi was a lifesaver for me and my son
