Right best remedies and ideas for extreme teething and the cold that goes with it please ladies, we've had very little sleep last night and today's not looking good, I tried nurofen and teething gel, nothing seemed to touch it, I gave her a teething ring in her cot to bite in and she just flung it..ivf got some Ashton & parsons powders somewhere but can I hell find them x

I don't like doing it but have done when teething or illness has been really bad. Rotate Calpol and Nurofen every 2hrs. So Calpol then 2hrs later Nurofen, 2hrs later Calpol again. Obviously no more the 4doses in 24hrs. And I usually try and only do this later afternoon until bedtime so hopefully it helps with sleep.

@sara-lou86, yes I had to do this last week as emergency doctor advised it when she had a virus. But last night was horrendous, I gave her nurofen at 8pm then again at 12 midnight then at half 2 gave her calpol as I was running out of ideas to help her. Nothing seemed to work, when I googled the dosage for her weight 10kg it says 5ml like a 1year old, (she's 10.5 months) so maybe I should be giving her 5ml instead of 2.5ml of nurofen, cause obviously their weight has a bearing not just age, god I hope she naps today we are both exhausted, like you say I wouldn't want to start the nurofen/calpol staggering until towards bedtime. Must of blanked all this out with Harvey, can't remember it being so bad lol I'm back at work next week too, it's going to kill me leaving her etc and getting though work after a night like this x

Yeh if Max has a bad night I always dread work the next day but actually while I'm working it's ok. Its when I stop I'm exhausted. Maybe she's cutting a tooth now which is the worst part. Hopefully she'll sleep better tonight.

@suzannecamilleri26 I actually like the taste of it haha, and it worked wonders for when my wisdom teeth were coming in. Just numbs it all, I found it better than teething gel on Brody and easier to get in his gums too! xx

Yeh if it's just common cold/cough or teething they still go to nursery. I still have to work so don't wanna take time off unless their really poorly. I loose a days pay but still have to pay for their nursery day lol
