@mommiesaremagical14 hes been smacking himself in the diaper but only after hes getting full and if he doesn't have pants on hell take his diaper off. Now hes figuring out how to take his pants off. And you can tell when he's pooping. Maybe I'll get him a potty soon and see how we do.
If they hide to poop, wake up from naps or overnight dry, can tell you they went or need to be changed... 18 months is pretty early but can be done, 2 years is a common time to start and boys typically take longer to train than girls... the earliest I've seen a boy potty trained was 20months :)
@meetthevalentines2017 My DD was his age when this happened. We went out and bought a potty seat right away but we just kept it in the living room for her to play with and examine and get used to it being around we started actively potty training her at 18 months.
@mommiesaremagical14 that's what I was thinking of doing. And seeing if every now and then we can catch a poop on the potty. I feel like peeing would be alot harder. I've noticed he pees in like little spurts most of the time. @zachattackmomma I thought it was alittle early too but trying can't hurt I guess. I wish he could he potty trained before his sister is born but I know that won't happen.
@meetthevalentines2017 it definitely doesn't hurt to try. When we started I cut out all liquid 1 hour before bed and would sit her on the potty very first thing in the morning. I also started taking her with me to the bathroom and would explain to her what I was doing as I was doing it and did the same when I changed her diaper and would say things like " mommies changing your diaper because you pee peed in it. Maybe next time you can try to put your pee pee in your new potty."
@mommiesaremagical14 I try explaining to him we are going to try the potty soon and I show him his urinal and he's usually in the bathroom with me. He likes to flush and knows your supposed to. Fingers crossed when we do try
@meetthevalentines2017 If you put him on the potty it helps to give them something to keep them occupied so they'll sit longer. Like a book, toy, snack or an iPad/Kindle. Jocey's potty was in our living room so she could watch TV while she sat.
@meetthevalentines2017 definitely, your his mama and you know him better than anyone so if you feel comfortable with starting and you think he will handle it well then go for it!!
@meetthevalentines2017 I introduced a lot of things to Jocelyn before she was at the age when most children learn how to do them. Shell be 4 this December and she can already read, write, do basic math, tell time and so many other things. So it doesn't hurt to try to do things a little earlier than most people "think" you should. It is after all just their opinion and like I said you're his mama and you know what he's capable of doing.

Jocey showed signs like taking her diaper off, no matter what she was doing she would stop and look down at or grab at her diaper when she peed.
