So Noah has decided to start hitting his head wether it be headbutting things or picking up…
So Noah has decided to start hitting his head wether it be headbutting things or picking up something and doing it himself (this morning the sky remote) he'll come up to us and kind of head butt us but he gives us a kiss while doing it aswell. Question is how do I stop him from hitting himself, really worry he'll hurt himself. Do I ignore him and hope he grows out of it or do I continue to say no and take the things away. I'll add most the time he does this when told no or when he can't do stuff but otherwise he's just sat there doing it.

It's quite a common behaviour, particularly for boys to go through. I guess it depends on the situation. If he's head butting you I'd say a firm no & move him away. If he's doing it against a wall or toys I'd move him away from the wall or reinforce how the toy is used. It's usually a reaction like you say to be being told no. Max has done it a few times when having a tantrum. Sometimes I ignore it as I tend to ignore tantrums. Obviously secretly watching making sure he doesn't hurt himself lol It'll phase out in time.

@sara-lou86 oh right, yeah I've been doing this so glad I'm doing it in the right kind of way, was worried he'll start doing it all the time for attention rather than just because ive told him no. Well hopefully he just does it for a few weeks and forgets about it ☺ thanks for replying made me feel more at ease about it all. X

Morgan used to do it for fun. He found it funny lol. Didn't last for long though. I've looked after children who did it quite regularly but they always grew out of it. It's a mix of not giving them too much attention to it but at the same time redirecting them to something else to snap then out of it.

@sara-lou86 okay I'll try giving him something when he goes to do it see if he gradually comes out of it ☺ they don't make it easy for you do they 😂 he's already a diva so I know I'm in for the long haul of temper tantrums and strops lol so hopefully can stop this before he gets older. My Max is a massive diva. I had tantrums with Morgan but nothing compared to what Max has shown me already. He was so chilled and quiet until he turned 1! Lol

@sara-lou86 😂 oh no! I can deal with then now so hoping they don't get worse! (I can dream 😂) I didn't think they went into diva mode till way older but clearly I was wrong lol the look they give you though sometimes I have to laugh
