I feel like a terrible mother because all my there week old does is cry. He acts hungry, but then he won't eat and just screams. I have no clue how to comfort him. I feel like I should just give up.

@gritsrr He is gassy, he has plenty of wet and dirty diapers though.

It's probably the gas. If you want to try home remedies, you can mix a little bit of baking soda with warm water. Give him a few drops and then either bicycle his legs or rub his tummy. It's good to give him the drops before feeding or right after.

My mom is old school and taught me this after I ran out of gas drops.

Don't give up mama. Its all trial and error. In addition to what some of these other ladies have suggested, it could also be acid reflux. Keep him propped up for a while after he eats. You'll figure out what's bothering him soon enough.
