Cold turkey won't help, try feeding him right before bed time and make sure he's full. Also, if you give him a bath using a lavender scent, it'll put him to sleep faster and longer than usual.

Are you still co sleeping with him? Transitioning him to his own bed will help with less feedings through the night . When I slept with Deuce and breastfed he ate all night only because he could smell it and it was there .
